Compassionate,

creative,

client-centered.

Our Approach

Our daily work is rooted in compassion, creativity, and client-centered care. We reject the notion of "fixing" our clients; instead, we meet them where they are and support their growth journey. Our methodology draws heavily from the therapeutic community model of music therapy, integrating principles from mindfulness and acceptance commitment therapy. By embracing each individual's unique journey and creating a supportive environment, we empower our clients to explore, express, and thrive.

Our Training

  • Board-certified music therapists undergo extensive training, including completing a bachelor's or master's degree in music therapy from an accredited institution.

  • They must complete a supervised clinical internship totaling over 1,000 hours.

  • They must pass a rigorous board certification exam administered by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).

  • This comprehensive training equips music therapists with the knowledge and skills to assess, plan, and implement effective music-based interventions.

All members of our team at Empower Music Therapy have completed this training and hold board certification, ensuring our clients receive the highest standard of care from qualified professionals.

Our Values

At Empower Music Therapy, our values guide everything we do. When you choose us as your therapy provider, you can trust that you will be genuinely cared for.

Our clinicians lead with their values at heart, ensuring that every interaction, session, and intervention is grounded in compassion, empathy, and respect.
